Terms of Service

The rules for using Explore Nord and buying from our shop

Last updated: 2026-04-08 · Version 1.0

1. Parties

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website at explorenord.com ("the Site") and any goods or services purchased through it. The Site is operated by [TODO — legal entity name], registered in Sweden under org.nr [TODO] ("we", "us", "Explore Nord"). Full operator details are in our Imprint.

By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Description of services

Explore Nord is a Nordic travel and lifestyle platform offering:

  • Editorial content about travel, culture, and nature in the Nordic countries
  • Trip planning and itinerary tools
  • A shop selling Nordic design goods and travel accessories
  • Booking widgets and affiliate links to third-party travel providers
  • Community features such as photo uploads and reviews

Affiliate links and third-party booking widgets are clearly marked. Any purchase made through such a link is a contract between you and the third-party provider; we are not a party to that contract.

3. Prices & payment

  • All prices on the Site are shown in Euro (€) and include Swedish VAT where applicable, unless stated otherwise.
  • Shipping costs are displayed during checkout before you confirm the order.
  • We accept the payment methods shown at checkout, currently card (via Stripe), Klarna, and Swish. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we never store your full card details.
  • A binding contract is formed when we confirm your order by email.

4. Delivery

We ship to addresses within the EU/EEA. Estimated delivery times are shown at checkout and start from the date we dispatch the order. Risk of loss passes to you upon delivery to your address, or to the person you nominate to receive the goods.

If delivery is delayed beyond 30 days, you may cancel the order and receive a full refund.

5. Right of withdrawal (ångerrätt)

Under the Swedish Distansavtalslagen (SFS 2005:59) — implementing EU Directive 2011/83/EU — you have the right to withdraw from a purchase contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

How to withdraw

  • The 14-day period starts on the day you (or a person you nominate) receive the goods.
  • To exercise the right, send a clear statement to [email protected]. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not required.
  • Return the goods to the address we provide within 14 days of notifying us, in their original condition.
  • You bear the direct cost of returning the goods unless we have agreed otherwise.
  • We will refund the full purchase price, including the original shipping cost, within 14 days of receiving the goods or proof of return — whichever is earlier — using the same payment method you used.

Exceptions

The right of withdrawal does not apply to sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene, or to custom-made items produced to your specifications.

Model withdrawal form

To: Explore Nord, [TODO — address], [email protected] I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract of sale of the following goods: Ordered on / received on: ________ Order number: ________ Name of consumer: ________ Address of consumer: ________ Signature (only if notified on paper): ________ Date: ________

6. Warranty & complaints (reklamation)

As a consumer you are protected by Konsumentköplagen (SFS 2022:260). You have the right to make a complaint about defective goods for up to three years from delivery. If a defect appears within two years, it is presumed to have been present at delivery unless we show otherwise.

To make a complaint, contact us at [email protected] within a reasonable time after noticing the defect — a complaint made within two months is always deemed timely.

7. Dispute resolution

If we cannot resolve a complaint directly, you have the right to take the matter to:

  • Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN) — the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes. Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm. www.arn.se. We commit to participating in ARN proceedings and to abiding by their recommendations.
  • European Online Dispute Resolution platform (ODR) — the EU Commission's online platform for out-of-court settlement of consumer disputes: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Our contact email for ODR is [email protected].

8. User accounts & content

  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for all activity under your account.
  • You may submit photos, reviews, and other content. You retain ownership of your content and grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, store, and moderate it on the Site.
  • You must not upload content that is illegal, infringes others' rights, is defamatory, hateful, or contains spam or malware.
  • We may remove user content at our discretion and suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
  • You may delete your account at any time from your profile page. On deletion, your personal data is removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual property

All Site content — text, photographs, graphics, code, logos — is owned by Explore Nord or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright. You may view and share individual pages for personal, non-commercial use. Any other use requires our prior written permission.

10. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Swedish law — in particular, liability for personal injury or death caused by negligence, or for gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

Subject to the above, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site or purchase of goods is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

We provide editorial and travel information "as is". We are not liable for decisions you make based on that information, or for the acts or omissions of third-party providers reached via booking widgets or affiliate links.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. For material changes we will notify registered users by email and require acceptance on the next login. Orders placed before the change are governed by the Terms in force at the time of order.

12. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Swedish law. As a consumer you enjoy the mandatory protections of the law of the EU/EEA country where you habitually reside. Disputes may be brought before the courts of [TODO — e.g. Stockholm tingsrätt], or the competent court of your place of residence.
